Jess Hands is a DJ whose rise has been as rapid as it is rooted in intention. Known for her sub-heavy, emotionally rich sets, she has quickly become a vital presence in the UK’s underground electronic music scene—and beyond.
Her debut at Percolate’s women-only festival Risen marked an early breakthrough, and in the two short years since she began DJing, Jess has gone on to support the likes of Octo Octa, Aloka, Jaguar, Eris Drew, Jay Carder, Denham Audio, Saoirse, and many others; clear indicators of her future trajectory.

With a grounded, authentic approach and deep dedication to her craft, she is now in high demand. Her bookings span a wide range of settings, from intimate club spaces to major international festivals, including performances at Baggen (Copenhagen), Body Movements (London), Outlook (Croatia), and Waterworks (London). Jess is equally at home in grassroots environments, regularly playing key UK venues such as Venue MOT, Corsica Studios, Carpet Shop, The Love Inn (Bristol), and in cities like Plymouth and Malmö (Inkonst).

Jess’s broad and ever-evolving sound has found a natural home on the airwaves too, with guest mixes and radio appearances for BBC Radio 1Xtra, Rinse FM, NTS, and Denmark’s Radio Panini complementing her busy gig schedule.

Rooted in bass and built for movement, Jess Hands’ sound is a deep, sub-heavy blend of UK bass, breaks, leftfield techno and more. Jess has a keen instinct for building momentum on the dancefloor, weaving together moments of emotional release with raw percussive energy. Whether she’s rolling out high-energy club tracks or dialing into deeper, headier textures, her selections are driven by intuition and a strong sense of physicality on the floor. Queer, rave-rooted, and deeply intuitive, her style mirrors both personal evolution and collective movement—constantly shifting, yet always cohesive and dance-focused.

Her journey has also been shaped by personal transformation—her openness about sobriety and mental health adds another layer of depth to her presence as an artist, offering connection, clarity, and catharsis through sound.
