About
Kincaid, the moniker of Joe Arthur, is an artist whose production and DJing traverse the overlapping fringes of multiple genres. Blending groove-laden percussion with intricate, sound design-driven textures, his productions and performances offer a distinctive and immersive experience. He has released music on labels including Well Street, Grid, Accidental Meetings, Redstone Press, Comic Sans, Useless Seconds, and Woozy, earning widespread acclaim across the electronic music landscape. In 2025, Kincaid embarks on a new series of live audiovisual performances, debuting in London and at Per:sona Festival in France. His unique approach to production and sound design has also led to a range of multidisciplinary collaborations, most recently working alongside Mercury Prize-nominated composer and artist Hannah Peel and visual specialists Uncharted Limbo Collective on the soundtrack for Alexander Whitley’s contemporary ballet, AntiBody. Kincaid’s reputation within the industry has resulted in numerous sound design commissions, including work for Selfridges’ Spring and Christmas 2023 campaigns, the soundtrack for the Lapse app, London College of Fashion runway shows, and Mithridate’s 2024 Fashion Week presentation. He has also created sample packs for Splice, including Textural Forms and Hybrid Winds, alongside a variety of other commercial and creative projects.
