About
Through a blend of glistening vocal pieces, strings of dreamy melodies, and distinctive rhythms, Ineffekt cleverly takes on a sound that both feels comfortable and elusive. Releases High Hopes (EP, 2023) and Something Bubbly / There You Go with Tsepo (EP, 2023) on Intercept, as well as a string of remixes, including Avalon Emerson’s Karaoke Song and Luna Morgenstern’s Click Work Drop, capture this essence.
Surrounding himself with influences from a wide range of contemporary music, he is less focused on aiming for something specific and more on reaching a compromise between eras and stylistically diverse sounds. The past two years of work have led to his output being embraced by esteemed artists and platforms in the left-field scene.
Following his debut EP, Ineffekt broadened his horizon by exploring hypermodern contemporary music. This resulted in a run of original productions and remixes, including a forthcoming record due in 2025, that draw from a wide spectrum of influences, most notably electro, house, and alt-pop, alongside hints of a new wave of colorful electronica that has been developing in recent years.
Consequently, the 23-year-old has supported Avalon Emerson, Bicep, Bonobo, Disclosure, Mall Grab, and Sammy Virji, as well as performed at festivals such as Draaimolen, Dekmantel, DGTL, Lowlands, and Best Kept Secret, in addition to prominent dance floors like De School, Nitsa, and Club Raum.
