About
EMA is a key torchbearer for a new generation of global bassniks, embodying community rave values through a love of low end frequencies from her home of Dublin.
Her work as a DJ, founder of label/party Woozy, booker for Dublin nightclub Tengu, Rinse FM resident and co-founder of the Skin&Blister collective is exhaustive, highlighting a relentless work ethic that has inspired a foundational infrastructure for her and those in her orbit to prosper.
Operating as a conduit to the on-going mutations of low-end futurism, EMA’s selections warp rhythmic advances around a respected tradition in sub weight. Rigorously informed by the foundational lineage of dub-inspired club music, she encompasses not only the sounds but also the unity mentality of her influences. Her application of this ethos to mix crafting is sensational, pairing evocative wub narratives with a penchant for screw-face bass anthems. It's an undeniable gift, evident in EMA’s monthly residency on Rinse FM, celebrated mixes for Ilian Tape, Truants, Crack Magazine, and Ransom Note, notable appearances at Fabric London, Printworks, Open Ground, NYC’s Public Records and the Arcadia Stage at All Together Now festival, multiple broadcasts for The Lot Radio and the co-hosting Keep Hush’s inaugural Irish stream with Woozy.
Founded in 2020, Woozy is EMA’s label and party series celebrating the sounds and DJs of modern soundsystem culture. 7 releases deep, including three various artist compilations plus solo EPs from Coe, Sha Ru and Laenz, and many parties hosted has seen her form a remarkable community around the values she wears so proudly on her sleeve.
EMA is also the co-founder of Dublin based collective Skin&Blister, a platform curated to nurture and encourage female, trans and non-binary creatives in the realm of music and the arts. Through running events, workshops, founding Ireland’s first creative database.
