Basic Rhythm

Basic Rhythm grew up on the boundary of East London and Essex playing Drum & Bass on pirate radio in the mid to late nineties, most notably Rude FM. As Basic Rhythm he draws directly upon his pirate radio years, while still pushing forward into new territories to emerge with more overtly dance floor material, reducing the sound down to its steely fundamentals, bringing in influences from dancehall, classical music and hardcore to gird the voices of the MCs he works with. He also runs the record label Musique Nocturne, and Club Pressure with Sully.
