For Bodily’s first show on Rinse FM’s new Sound Sanctuary residency, founder FYI Robyn, has invited Cellist-coder boondlllx to create a sonic attunement frequency massage and soundbath, bringing his own idiosyncratic approach to sound as a source for healing, inner exploration and renewal. The sonic attunement - written especially for this episode - showcases some of his approaches to using carefully orchestrated frequencies to stimulate, entrain and attune the bodymind. Drawing on research into exotic qualia and the neuroscience of meditation, his work plays close attention to low and ultra low frequencies, and the natural harmonic ratios of just intonation. His sounds wash the listener in subtle sonic motion, stimulate blood, tissue and grey matter to bring the bodymind to liminal spaces. For the cello soundbath, boondlllx has combined the fruits of this sonic attunement practice with his work as @armedwithbow, creating uniquely rich and lush ambient sound worlds to bridge the digital and the embodied. We recommend you enjoy this session in a quiet, private space, without distraction. Ideally this would be practiced with good quality speakers, or headphones, if that’s available to you. As eye mask is also recommended to travel deeper and a blanket for extra comfort.
