Bergsonist is the moniker of Moroccan-born, New York-based producer, DJ, experimental musician, and multi-disciplinary artist Selwa Abd. Constantly working on music, she has issued several albums and dozens of EP ranging from gritty industrial techno often incorporating Middle Eastern rhythms and samples, to abstract sound design composed for art installations. She is the founder of artistic platform Bizaarbazaar, was a member of the Discwoman collective, and has hosted a monthly program on NTS Radio since 2018. In addition to numerous self-issued recordings, she has released music on labels like Clan Destine (2017's From Dualism to Monism) and Optimo Music (2020's Middle Ouest). In 2024, she released As If Reality, an experimental album created during her artist residency at ISSUE Project Room, as well as the more techno-leaning full-length Maghreb
