This month’s mix is a musical response to our dear friend Somnath Bhatt’s exhibition called “છાયારાષ્ટ્ર / Republic of Shadows” that we were lucky enough to see in Delhi at the end of last year. Som’s drawings on mica, steel and granite stone “explore silence, rupture, and the sensory instability of meaning—tuning, as the artist describes, ‘an antenna’ toward what cannot be fully said.” Our mix explores sounds with a lot of texture, sharp edges, and swells of intensity and emotion, and creates stimulus for all kinds of contemplation that we experience both on and off the dancefloor.
