DJ, producer, music journalist, radio host, promoter, and PhD in musicology... When it comes to the world of dance music, Mengzy’s passion has seen the artist and academic make a name for herself not only in Hong Kong but across Asia and beyond.

In August 2023, Mengzy’s ‘Medusa’ was featured on Vol.4 of Hardcore Energy’s ‘Introducing’ series - marking her first appearance on an esteemed UK underground label and a new era for the multi-genre bass producer.

Previous releases also include ‘Into the Light’ via FuFu Records (HK) as well as an official remix of ‘Your Love’ by Intriguant (SG) and ‘Embrace Me’ by The Naked Eye (UK).

As a selector, Mengzy’s signature blend of bass, breaks, and techno has secured her monthly residencies at several of the city’s flagship underground venues, while international bookings have taken her to Macau, Mainland China, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

Established as a tastemaker in the region, the Singaporean-Dutch DJ’s credentials include being Mixmag Asia’s Music Culture Columnist, where she contributes a monthly curation column called ‘Mengzy Selects’, and having hosted her own dance music shows on RTHK Radio 3, namely ‘Asia Soundsystem’ and ’The Breakdown’.
